Activision has officially announced the Call of Duty League which will kick off in 2020, along with its branding and overall prize pool for the competiton
Exclusively, the Call of Duty League will be played on PS4 or PlayStation 4 in a 5v5 format and will boast a total prize pool of an estimate of $6 million in its first year. The season will culminate in the Call of Duty League Championship, crowning the ultimate winner of the season.
In the official Call of Duty League website, there is news on the official prize pool for the competiton, along with how the league formate will take place. The website also confirms that the geolocated league “will travel from city to city,” but does not provide further details on format—such as whether teams will host multi-day homestand weekend events similar to the format that Activision Blizzard’s Overwatch League will embrace in 2020.
